On Sunday 22 October, the British Council in Egypt hosted the annual Principals’ Forum at the Ritz Carlton in Cairo bringing together over 175 Partner School leaders, officials from the Ministries of Education and Higher Education and partners from Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel and Oxford AQA awarding bodies.
Delegates to the forum participated in a number of enriching talks and discussions around the theme of ‘Positive Leading for Positive Learning’, including an interactive session on ‘Fostering a Positive School Culture’ from AUC Professor, Mustafa Toprak, a workshop facilitated by British Council Child Protection Advisor, Hana Abdel Salam exploring best practice in safeguarding school children, and an update from ministerial advisor Deena Borai on national sector reforms.
Maha Hilmy, British School Principal at Advanced Education School said: “The theme of the forum was an eye opener for all international leaders. The content was rich and extremely informative and having educational people from all walks of life made a great impact.”
British Council Country Director, Jeff Streeter remarked: “This year’s Forum provided opportunities for leaders to pause and reflect on our strengths in the British international education system, but also to work together to turn challenges into opportunities instilling positivity into the way we lead teachers, learners and parents.”
