Dean, Pro Vice-Chancellor Ahmed Seragy

Professor Ahmed Elseragy is Dean of Art and Design and Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor (Employability), at the British University in Egypt. With over 25 years of experience in higher education in the UK and Middle East. He holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham and is a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy in the UK SFHEA. He was the Head of School Engineering and Director of Enterprise at the University of Lincoln in the UK. he also works as senior consultant for AdvanceHE in the UK.

Egyptian filmmaker Amir El-Shenawy

Amir El-Shenawy is an award-winning Egyptian filmmaker. His debut feature KILO 64 premiered at the Cairo International Film Festival in 2018, and his short film EDRIS received a Special Mention at the Carthage Film Festival in 2022. A Goldsmiths MA graduate and Chevening Alumnus, he is currently completing his third feature, American Dream, slated for release in 2026.

Gender Equality Advisor Doaa Hafez

Doaa joined the British Council Egypt in 2003 and currently serves as the Regional Gender Advisor for the MENA region, leading efforts to mainstream Gender Equality and Inclusion across Education, English, and Arts portfolios. Formerly Head of Social Development, she brings 20 years of experience in gender consultation and programme design across 17 MENA countries. She holds a master’s degree in Gender and Development from Cairo University.

Financial Manager Jaida Gamal

Jaida, an alumna of the University of Edinburgh, is a Financial Advisory Manager at Grant Thornton Egypt, leading high-impact advisory on major public and private sector transactions. Previously a Finance Expert at Egypt’s Ministry of Finance, she contributed to issuing $500 million in Samurai bonds and financing landmark national infrastructure projects. A recipient of the Study UK Alumni Award 2025 (Business and Innovation).

Head Muhammad Mansour

Muhammad Mansour is the Head of Business Development and Partnerships at the British Council Egypt. He holds a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from Cairo University and has over 15 years of professional experience. After beginning his career in the health sector, he joined the British Council, where he led IELTS operations across Egypt and built key partnerships with universities. In his current role, he focuses on optimising operations and securing new business opportunities in Egypt’s education sector.

Programme Manager Nevine Sharaf

Nevine Sharaf is the Chevening Programme Manager at the British Embassy in Cairo. She holds a master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from the AUC and has 20 years of experience in education programming and project management, including over a decade with the Chevening Scholarships and alumni relations. Previously, she worked at the British Council on IGCSE, IELTS, and professional qualifications, and with CARE International and IFAD–UN on poverty reduction projects.
