Ahmed Fouad

Head of Inclusive and Creative Economies ICE, British Council

 

Ahmed is involved in a wide range of program management roles through both Governmental and Private sectors

2012 Masters of International business administration from Ecole Supérieure Libre des Sciences Commerciales Appliquées
2016 Support the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood in coordinating, planning, implementing and monitoring the EU-NCCM-UNICEF programme 
2017 Strategic Partnership and Advocacy consultant at Plan International Egypt

 

Cathy Costain

Head of Arts, British Council

  • 1983 She graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic (now the University of Central England) with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Librarianship
  • She started her career as a librarian at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, in Oxfordshire
  • 1986 She moved to Egypt and was based in the libraries of the universities of Menufeya (1986–88) and Tanta (1989–91)
  • Since 1994 she has worked for the British Council in Egypt, firstly managing the library in Cairo and, since 2010, as Head of Arts

Iman Bibars

Vice President, Ashoka

  • Doctor Bibars is the Regional Director and founder of Ashoka Arab World
  • She is also the co-founder and current chairperson of Egypt’s very first microfinance organization, the Association for the Development and Enhancement of Women (ADEW)
  • She is currently leading Ashoka in its revolutionary movement Women's Initiative for Social Entrepreneurship (WISE)
  • She holds a PhD in Development Studies from Sussex University and a BA and MA in Political Science from the American University in Cairo

Mohamed El Ghawy

Founder and Artistic Director , AFCA for Arts and Culture and Hakawy International Arts Festival for Children in Cairo

  • He has taken up the role of artistic director for the Brabants International Kinder Festival – BRIK in Breda in the Netherlands
  • A Chevening Scholar, He studied cultural leadership with the Clore Leadership Programme in the UK from 2013-2014 and he previously studied Arts Management at the DeVos Institute of Arts Management in Washington DC, USA
  • He is an alumnus of the European Festivals Association (EFA) and a MENA ‘cultural innovator’
  • Also an alumnus of the Emerging Leaders Institute – APAP|NYC

Shaimaa El Banna

Head of Science, British Council

  • A BA holder of Political Sciences, Cairo University (hons)
  • She manages a 55 million GBP science programmes between Egypt and UK
  • She has a direct experience in Development and empowering marginalized categories of the society
  • She managed EU funded project as head of training at ADEW
  • She was the off-shore programmess manager at Midwest Universities Consortium for International Activities (MUCIA)
  • She is currently doing her masters on 'Gender and Development' with Cairo University and Sussex University

Doctor Ahmed El Seragy

Head of School of Engineering, University of Lincoln

Doctor Ahmed is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, working with various engineering and manufacturing key stakeholders, industry partners and manufacturing networks

  • 1993-1997 BSc and MSc in Architectural Engineering and Environmental Design from Alexandria University
  • 2004 PhD in Sustainable Energy Engineering from the University of Nottingham
  • 2017-2019 Consultant for the ministry of Trade and Industry in Egypt: and a consultant for the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE) in the UK
