May have participated in several prestigious international assemblies representing Egypt over the past years, such as the UNESCO expert meeting on the heritage of modernities in the Arab World. She also has a number of published research and publication.

Michael Milad Henein Abdalah

Social Impact Award

University of Bristol

Michael Abdalah is a leading expert in the school health and nutrition field. With his team at Save the Children International/ Egypt. Michael led the process of activating the school health and environment committees in Assiut Governorate. His role is to monitor and support health and environmental services in schools, providing a quality learning environment for around 60,000 students at primary and preparatory schools in Assiut.

Mohamed Elsonbaty Ramadan

Co-founder of the Arab Forum of Science Media and Communication (AFSMC)

Mohamed Elsonbaty Ramadan is a science communication expert, trainer, and award-winning journalist with 15 years of international experience. He co-founded the Arab Forum of Science Media and Communication and founded SciComm-AI. He is a former vice-president of the Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST) network and interim president of the Arab Science Journalists Association (ASJA). Mohamed specializes in public engagement and advancing science communication in the Arab world.

2013 - Rana Mokhles

Rana is a medical student at Cairo University and she is the first female winner of the FameLab Egypt competition! Science isn’t only her profession, but also her hobby. Rana is an optimist, she dreams big and she believes that one day, in the near future, she will be part of the scientific revolution in the country. She planns to spend as much time as she can to remind herself and others that there is always something incredible out there waiting to be discovered.

Dr. Ezzedine Choukri Fishere

Dr. Fishere is an Egyptian writer, academic and diplomat. He graduated from Cairo University with a BA in Political Science. Obtained his MA in International Relations from Ottawa University and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Montreal University. Since 1995, he has published six novels which are described as a critique of Egypt’s political and social realities. Dr. Fishere has played a significant role as an Egyptian and United Nations (UN) diplomat, and worked as a counsellor to the Egyptian Foreign Minister until 2007. He is currently a Visiting Distinguished Lecturer at the American University in Cairo (AUC), where he teaches political science.

 

 

Hanan Mohamed Youssef Abdulla Abdelrehim

Culture and Creativity Award, University of Salford

Hanan is an Egyptian independent documentary film Producer/Director and assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Communication and Mass Media at the British University in Egypt. She is Chevening alumna and holds a master’s degree in media production and TV documentary production from the University of Salford. In 2018, she won BBC’s best short documentary film award at the BBC Arabic Festival for her film ‘The town the men left’. Hanan’s goal is to put theory into practice and to best serve society.

Norhan El Sakkout

Founder and Creative Director of Saqhoute

Norhan El Sakkout is the founder and creative director of Saqhoute, a slow fashion brand celebrating Egyptian heritage through historical designs and hand embroidery. With a background in fine arts, design, finance, and entrepreneurship, she blends creativity and strategy to preserve Egyptian crafts. A sustainability advocate, she has lectured at the British University in Egypt and spoken at GIU. Norhan holds a finance and fine arts degree from AUC and an MA from Goldsmiths, University of London
