Iman Diaa
A CELTA and local DELTA tutor, and she is an IELTS examiner. She has been working at the British Council in Egypt and Saudi Arabia since 2009 as a teacher, academic coordinator, academic manager, and a trainer. She is doing an MA in Professional Development for Language Education. She is currently the Head of Teacher Training at the British Council, Egypt.
Nick Baguley
Nick has been a CELTA tutor since 1997 working on courses throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He has worked at the British Council in Egypt since 2008 as a teacher trainer and mentor. He has an MA in Professional Development for Language Education and is currently doing a PhD in Applied Linguistics. He is also the Joint Chief Assessor for the CELTA award for the Middle East and North Africa region and writes regularly for EFL magazines.
Tracy Bensabai
Tracy is a CELTA tutor, local DELTA tutor and IELTS examiner. She has taught in Europe and the Middle East since 1997, and has over 15 years’ experience in teacher training. During this time, she has worked in higher education and UK schools, as well as for the British Council. She has an MA in Applied Linguistics and a PGCE in Secondary Modern Languages. She is currently Head of Adult Teaching and Learning at the British Council, Egypt.
Osama Elbeyaly
is a CELTA course tutor and a DELTA local tutor at the British Council Egypt. He has extensive teaching and teacher training experiences in a wide range of contexts. He has been involved in teacher training since 2012. He worked as a Senior Teacher – Teacher Training in British Council Saudi Arabia and British Council Egypt. He is currently doing an MA in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. His areas of interests include feedback on teacher performance, genre analysis and composition studies.
Louise Manicolo
Louise is an experienced teacher, manager, and trainer with over 20 years working in the ELT field. She has been a full-time CELTA tutor since 2013, giving courses throughout the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East. As well as her interest in teacher development, Louise continues to work as a writer and reviewer for large publishing houses. Alongside the DELTA, Louise also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Manchester Metropolitan University and the IHCYLT in teaching English as a second language to young learners. She has enjoyed a diverse career in the field working in the UK State system, further education colleges, large English academies, and UK universities as an EAP lecturer.
Paul Mason
Paul has worked as a CELTA tutor for more than 30 years and is also an assessor for the award. During this time, he has worked as a teacher, trainer and teaching centre manager for both International House and the British Council in Egypt and the Gulf. He also works supporting teachers taking the Trinity Teaching Young Learners Extension Course and on the in-service Teacher Support Programme.
Catherine McFarlane
Catherine has over 20 years’ experience in the ELT field. She has been an English language teacher since 1991 and became Cambridge DELTA qualified in 2001. Since then, she has run CELTA courses and teacher development courses in leading language centres in Europe, Latin America and Egypt, as well being an oral examiner for Cambridge main suite of exams and an experienced on-line Aptis marker for the British Council. Catherine is also a CELTA assessor.
Simon Shephard
Simon has worked extensively all over the world as an English language teacher, trainer facilitator and project manager with over 20 years’ experience in the ELT field. He joined the British Council in 2003 and has been a CELTA tutor since 2010. He is an experienced teacher trainer and mentor as well as course director for Trinity’s Teaching Young Learners Extension Certificate. He is also a master trainer for project management.
Anna Wardyla-Shall
Anna is a CELTA and local DELTA tutor and TYLEC (Teaching Young Learners Extension Certificate) trainer and a teacher mentor. She is an experienced, certified Cambridge Exams KET, PET, FCE, YLE and IELTS examiner and examiner trainer. She has worked at the British Council in Egypt since 2004 as a teacher, testing coordinator, teacher trainer and mentor. From 2017 to 2019 she was a consultant, materials developer and a trainer on the NTTP (National Teacher Training Programme).
Doaa Zakaria
Doaa is a CELTA and Delta Module 2 tutor. She has worked at the British Council in Egypt since 2009 as a teacher, academic manager and teacher trainer. From 2017 to 2019 she was a Training Manager for the British Council’s global HR transformation programme. She is currently writing her dissertation as part of an MA in Professional Development for Language Education.
