The British Council supports the building of a vibrant, sustainable and entrepreneurial arts scene with the space for creative and transformative ideas to develop and find an audience.

We make international connections between individual artists and arts organisations, helping them to produce new work and share existing work with engaged audiences, build their creative practice, knowledge and skills, and expand their networks. We have a strong focus on the creative economy to ensure that art and creativity is recognised as a key part of Egypt’s social and economic well-being with the right environment to help it thrive.

Supporting artists

We’re passionate about helping young Egyptians pave a career in the arts and we support them with:

  • skills development
  • opportunities to showcase work
  • grants
  • networking.

We secure relationships with creative partners internationally to deliver exciting projects in Egypt, from theatre and dance to visual arts and design.
